"I have 2 things to say about your book " Stuck". 1. Very well written, and I enjoyed it very much. 2. Way back in 1970 when I graduated from high school I was in the exact same position as the characters in your book. I was in the draft lottery, and got number 188. You never forget that number. I had considered joining the Marine Corps with a buddy on the " buddy system". But when I graduated I was only 17 and my dad who was a ww2 D-day vet would not sign for me. So my buddy went and made a career out of the service. Since I was only 17 I could not join any service or get a factory job. You had to be 18, so therefore I was " Stuck". I was so anxious to get a good start in life, to get to work, to start " something" that would be my career. I ended up working on the family farm that Summer and then got hired at the local GM plant after my birthday in October. I will never forget that summer though and the uncertainty of not knowing where I was headed. My life turned out well. I retired from GM, and Ive been married 40 years and have 2 girls and 3 grandkids. I just wanted to write to thank you for your book. Im sure others will see themselves in it as well. I'm positive they will.
Thanks again Mr. Fredrick." Kevin Harry, Middletown, Indiana
"I started reading your book "Indie Writer" yesterday morning, and finished it last night. I found it very intriguing. I, too, would like to write a book about my life, and have it published so that I will be remembered by at least one person out there in the world, to whom I should make a difference. Thank you for the information provided within this book.
I was also intrigued by the traveling you have done to inspire such stories; I too travel a lot to places unknown to myself to experience different settings. It's very mind settling.
And I wanted you to know that I am interested in reading more of your books. Thank you again for being such an inspiring writer." Cheryl , Farmington, Missouri
"I truly enjoyed reading "Stuck." Youth normally have issues to solve but the young man in this novel had a bit more than his regular share. There were alcoholic parents, body image, relationships and as if that wasn't enough he faced the possibility of being sent to Vietnam to fight in the war. In the end he emerged successfully from all his personal tragedies to become a great athletic hero. It was an engaging novel, beautifully written.” Angela Turner, Burke, South Dakota
"I really did enjoy your new book "Stuck". I know many students with big self-esteem issues,
we all had some kind of issue growing up. So many different ways Ape ( the lead character) thought of things that were very believable to increase his self-esteem." Rhonda Howell, Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, Bradley, Illinois
